Our Journey

Chaitanya Kul began in 2018 in Adari, a village in Mau, Uttar Pradesh, as an open learning space for rural children. What started in broken rooms and under open skies slowly grew into a structured community learning initiative.

In the early days, the centre functioned as a free and fluid space where children explored academics, art, sport, storytelling and community work. Over time, peer educators emerged, a library was built, and learning journeys expanded children’s exposure beyond the village.

In 2020, during the pandemic, the team led relief efforts supporting over 4,000 migrant workers while continuing remote learning support for children.

Between 2022 and 2024, the after school evolved into a structured Learning Garage program focused on academic support, social emotional learning, sports, community connection and choice based learning. Children began leading daily reflections, organizing festivals, mentoring younger students and earning through real skills like photography and tutoring.

In 2025, the work restructured into three focused initiatives: Sparsh, Bandhu and CK Ultimate.

The next phase includes supporting 150 self directed rural learners, with at least 60 percent girls, partnering with 20 government schools, and reaching 5,000 children beyond the centre through school transformation efforts.

From a small open space in a village to a growing youth led ecosystem, the journey continues.
